Huts

Most of the preserved huts were constructed between the XVIIIth and XXth centuries. His most common use is serving as refuge to shepherds and farmers against the bad weather conditions. Also they were used as refuge for the domestic animals and for the main hardware of these men in his daily tasks.

Depending on its function, form and size two wide groups can be distinguished: huts for refuge, and huts used for the agricultural works.

Hut or Cave used as Refuge

Although there is a wide range of plans and coverings, this kind of hut is usually of small or medium size, since its main function was sheltering the agricultural workers while they were eating, working or taking care of the flock, in case of shepherds.
