The church, the abbot house and the “esconjuradero” made up an interesting group situated high up on a terraced hill, dominating the whole village of Almazorre and most part of the surrounding scenery, in the left bank of the Vero.

It presents only one nave covered with a slightly pointed barrel vault and reinforced with two arches. A small presbytery gives entry to the apse of semicircular plan covered by a barrel vault. As the nave is higher than the apse, it was possible to open an occular window in the presbytery, letting pass the light to the temple.

To the feet of the temple there is a high choir of later execution, done perhaps when the side chapels were opened and the tower was erected, in the XVIth. Under him, built into the choir, is the tithe warehouse. The main front it is opened in the south wall, under a modern atrium.

Built against the western wall survives the ancient abbot house, a popular construction made on masonry and ashlar, of rectangular plan, covered with flagstone as the temple.

This complex has also an “esconjuradero” placed opposite to the abbot house, and the remains of an ancient oven.

The restoration
Its declaration as “BIC” (Property of Cultural Interest) has favoured its exterior rehabilitation, considered very necessary, as it is possible to appreciate through the attached graph.

The entry to the temple
The access to the temple is possible across a small porch with continuous benches at its wings. About the XVIIth century both chapels were opened in the north and south sides. On the south chapel a two sections tower was erected, with access to the outside and covered by a false dome.

From the back of the parish temple it is possible to see the course of the river Vero.

The “Esconjuradero”
A few meters to the south of the temple, there is the “Esconjuradero”, a small building from where the thunderstorms tried to be avoided with spells, in order to divert the rainfall to another region so the fields and harvests were respected and safe.

The dome of false vault of the “Esconjuradero” is covered with perfectly arranged sandstones.
