We leave from the Almazorre lower quarter, opposite to the schools, using an ancient bridle path that is very well signposted. We will find stones hayricks, with an open high flat covered of tile, and forests of holm oak, gall-oaks and boxwood.
To get to the mill we take the detour to the right, towards the villages of Lecina and Betorz. Take the fork to the right, which indicates the mill. Enjoy the wide landscape of the valley, and see the Virgen de la Sierra Chapel, to the left, in the river bank.
Then take the last detour to the left, a steep slope paved in stone; cross the track by the river bank and there we find the hydraulic complex. There we can see the flour mill, the tiles kiln and an ancient bridge built to overcome the river.
Desde Almazorre hay otra ruta igual de interesante que nos lleva al castillo de Azaba y el Dolmen llamado Caseta de las Balanzas:
From Almazarre exists another interesting route that takes us to the Azaba Castle and to the dolmen named Caseta de las Balanzas: we part from the church through a well signposted path, then we see the left bank of the river Vero and there, built in a cliff, we find the Azaba Castle, dated in the Early Middle Age. It takes more or less 40 min. to arrive.
20 minutes more and we arrive to the “Selva Grande”, the big forest, in the Tozal de Mata, where we discover the dolmen called Caseta d’as Balanzas, in a holm oak zone.
