His common name is holm oak and his scientific name in Latin is Quercus ilex. In this region is known as the Holm Oak of Lecina, The Chestnut grove.
This tree is one of the better preserved nature symbols of Lecina, tied to many legends about witches and traditions of this region. It is, according to the popular knowledge, a millennial holm oak that has always been there. It is a very recognized and celebrated tree in the region. It is too a place to visit for everyone who approaches to enjoy the village and the surrounding of Lecina.
Formerly it was a place for dealings and agreements sealed between town halls, it has been too witness of judicial agreements and weddings due to its great importance and beauty.
Nowadays his health is very good and it keeps on producing high quality abundant acorns.
It is easy to access; recently a few works were done so that his contemplation was accessible for the whole world.
